    One of the newer activities featured in Iowa is the Yankee Doodle Pops concert. This concert is set up on the beautiful lawn of the state capital building. The Des Moines Symphony Orchestra plays popular and classical music throughout the evening with a huge fireworks display at the end. Earlier in the day there are a variety of other performers and food vendors. It's really a great event and a lot of fun for everyone.
