    • 3

Combine flour, salt and pepper in a resealable plastic bag.

    • 4

Dip a chicken piece in the milk then let the excess drip off.

    • 5

Drop the chicken in the plastic bag then shake to coat it in the flour.

    • 6

Remove the chicken and set aside on a covered plate.

    • 7

Repeat steps 4 to 6 with the remaining chicken pieces.

    • 8

      Heat oil in a skillet.

    • 9

Fry the chicken in batches for around 10 minutes per side (breasts may cook a little quicker).

    • 10

Remove cooked chicken from the skillet and set aside on paper towels to drain off excess oil.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a larger bag to coat several chicken pieces at once.

  • Add herbs and spices of your choice to the flour mixture.

  • Each cut of chicken will vary slightly in cooking time, so cook all the breasts together, all the legs together and all the wings together so everything cooks evenly.

  • Check if the chicken has fried long enough by piercing a piece with a fork or skewer. The chicken is cooked properly when the juices that run out are clear.

  • Reduce the fat content of the chicken by spraying lightly with cooking oil or fat-free cooking spray and baking instead of frying. It won't taste the same, but you'll have a healthier meal.
