How to Make Potato Salad

Potato salad is easy to make and it’s a great addition to any outdoor picnic or barbecue. There are many varieties of this dish, and you can experiment to your heart’s content to make the perfect potato salad.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 cups cooked potatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup salad dressing (your preference)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • Cider vinegar
  • Celery
  • Mustard
  • Celery seeds
  • Pepper
  • Eggs
  • Salad dressing
  • Horseradish
  • Green onions
  • Potatoes
  • Salt
  1. Step 1

    Simmer the potatoes until cooked. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before removing the skins and cutting into cubes.

  2. Step 2

    Slice the green onions and chop the hard-boiled eggs.

  3. Step 3

    Put the potato cubes into a large bowl, then add the celery, eggs, onions, vinegar and seasonings. Toss lightly to coat the potatoes.

  4. Step 4

    Mix the mustard and salad dressing in a separate bowl then stir it into the potatoes. Be careful that you don’t mush the potato chunks.

  5. Step 5

    Chill for two hours before serving.

  • Experiment with salad dressings to get the right degree of flavor and sweetness.
