How to Solder

From tiny electronic components to larger, heavier work, soldering is an extremely useful skill to have, and necessary for some jobs. If you are a beginner, then grab your tools and follow along.

Things You'll Need:

• A soldering iron
• Solder

1. Tin the wires to prep them. This means touching the soldering iron to the wires for a couple of seconds, then touching the solder to the wires.

2. Touch the solder to the iron over the joint that you need to solder to melt the solder and form a bead, which should go on the connection.

Tips & Warnings

• Different kinds of solder will require different temperatures.
