Repairing electrical tools can be hazardous as well as difficult if you do not have the relevant experience. A little basic troubleshooting, however, is easy and quick.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Drill
  1. Step 1

Check the power supply. The cord should be free of rips, cracks, or exposed wires. If it is a cordless drill, check that the battery is charged, and that the charger is working properly.

  2. Step 2

Check to see if you are in the right mode. Your drill will not drill well if it is in reverse, for example.

  3. Step 3

Check to see if you have the right bit installed in your drill.

  4. Step 4

If these don’t fix your problem, it is time to call in a professional or replace the drill.
