Add Artwork to your Podcasts using GarageBand

To add a nice visual feature to your podcast, GarageBand 3 allows you to add a visual artwork track, so that your listener can see an image of what they are listening to. Here's how to make use of this feature.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  • GarageBand software
  • images to work eith
  • a podcast to decorate with visuals
  1. Step 1

First, think about your podcast. What is your topic? What would be fitting to have shown next to your title, as you are talking about something. If your podcast is about music, perhaps a picture of the band? If you're interviewing someone, perhaps a picture of them? Or maybe just a general photo of the particular topic you are disussing.

  2. Step 2

Search for the images that you want to use. A simple option is to stick with the images that are available on the iLife Media Browser. All you have to do is browse, pick on, and drag the images onto your podcast artwork track.

  3. Step 3

If you have your own picture, you can drag in a title car with the name of your podcast and the picture that you want to use.

  4. Step 4

You always just have one picture representing the entire podcast. But if that is not satisfactory and if you would like muliple pictures, you can create chapter markers.

  5. Step 5

Divide your podcast into sections using the chapter markers, and then you can drag in a different image to correspond to each chapter. This allows your listener to follow along while the image (and topic) changes. Position the images so that they are in-sync with the audio.

Tips & Warnings
  • As you create chapter markers, you can add links to relevant websites to each chapter to make the podcast more interactive.
  • Make sure the pictures you use doesn't have any copyright limitations.
