How to Make a List of Potential Wedding Guests

Before you plan your wedding, you need to make a list of potential wedding guests. This list gives you a good idea of how big your special ceremony is going to be. With a list of possible attendees, you can make rough plans for the reception and begin to carve out a budget for the wedding.

Things You’ll Need:

• Writing instrument

1. Draw up a list of all of your family members. Have your spouse-to-be do the same.
2. Make a list of all of your friends. Ask your partner to make a list of friends, too.
3. Write down the names of all of you coworkers you're friends with or you think should be invited. Again, ask your future spouse to do the same.
4. Compare the lists that you and your future spouse have made so far. Cross out any repeated names, which will require you to decide if that person goes on the bride’s side or the groom’s side.
5. Prune the names on the lists. Ask yourself if you really want these people to be at your wedding. Your spouse should do the same.
6. Store these thinned-down lists for future need. When you get around to ordering invitations and planning the reception, use the lists to guide your choices.
