Real estate licenses in Texas are controlled by the Texas Real Estate Commission, or TREC. If you want to become a real estate agent in Texas, follow the guidelines as outlined on their Web site.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Meet the residency requirements. You must be at least 18, and be both a legal resident of the United States and of Texas.
Step2
Take the correct courses as outlined on the Web site listed in the Resources section.
Step3
Submit your education records along with the assessment fee. This must be done before submitting an application.
Step4
Submit an application along with the fee required.
Step5
Take the required test.
Step6
Arrange for sponsorship by a holder of an active license.

on 2/23/2008 I actually tried one of the online courses from allied school. The material and online course was so easy for me to pass within one month. People who want to get a real estate license in texas, I highly recommend the course from allied.
