This really goes for any Grand Theft Auto Game after 2 (GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, Liberty City Stories). As the name implies, there is a lot of driving in these games, and the vehicles are not always provided. That means you’ve got to go get your own set of wheels! Fortunately, there’s no shortage of motorists who don't lock their doors or wear seat belts.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a car that looks nice. Trucks are handy if you need durability, sporty cars are nice if you need speed. Speed is almost always what you’re looking for, but durability is also a factor. Mid-range sedans are usually a good bet. If its got a spoiler, it’s a speedy model.

  2. Step 2

Make sure your target vehicle is not a gang car. Gang cars are almost always tricked out in one way or another. Jacking a gang car will spell trouble for you! The gangsters inside will start shooting at you the minute you get in, and will probably pop the tires, rendering the vehicle useless.

  3. Step 3

Either run in front of the car or wait for it to stop at a light. Don’t worry, running in front of it usually wont get you run over. Usually.

  4. Step 4

Go around to the driver’s side door and press whatever button you use to steal cars (varies by console, usually O or B.) This will yank the driver out of the car and let you get in.

  5. Step 5

Drive! Many drivers really don’t want to give their vehicle up, and will pull you back out if you linger too long.

  6. Step 6

Try and either pull away from the driver or run them over in order to prevent them taking their car back.

  7. Step 7

    Enjoy your new wheels!
