Collect the birth certificate (required for bride or groom if under 21 years old), driver's license, military ID or valid passport for both the bride and groom

Gather any certified final divorce decree if either party has been married previously, dated at least sixty days before applying for the marriage license. Alternatively, a certificate of death of a previous spouse should be obtained.

Visit the Web site in the Resources section to find the link or phone number to a convenient county office.

Head to the most convenient office with bride, groom, documentation and $50 in cash within 60 days prior to the ceremony.

Tips & Warnings
The marriage license can be applied for in any county.
Both the bride and the groom must be present to apply for and sign the marriage license.
Marriage licenses are valid for 60 days.
Females under the age of 16 and males under 17 may not be married in Arkansas unless court ordered. A bride 16 or 17 years old, or a groom 17 years of age must be accompanied by both parents to apply for a marriage license.
Proxy, first cousin, common law and same sex marriages are forbidden.
If the marriage license is not used within 60 days, it must be returned to the County Clerk's office where it was issued. Failure to return an unused license within 60 days will result in a bond of $100 being issued.
