1
Choose a date. With so many microclimates in Oklahoma, the date can affect the type of wedding you have depending on the season you choose.
-
2
Choose a place. Mountains and rivers, big cities and small farms are all abundant in the state. There's a setting for any type of wedding in Oklahoma (see Resources below).

3
Get a marriage license. You must supply your social security number and show a driver's license, passport or birth certificate. Depending on the county in which you apply, the marriage license fee will be between $25 and $50 (see References below).
-
4
Hire an ordained clergy member or a public official certified to perform your marriage ceremony. Otherwise, if you're not going to have a ceremony, you can have an official in the county courthouse perform the marriage immediately.
-
5
Plan the reception. Receptions can be a quiet gathering at home to a complete party with a live band at a local club. Focus on your budget first, then think about the type of reception you'd like to have.

Invite your friends and family. Remember to collect an RSVP from each guest so that you know how many to prepare for.
