Lava Flows aren't just found in Hawaii--the tasty tropical beverage, that is. You can easily whip up this sweet and fruity alcoholic refreshment at home. Here's how to make a Lava Flow.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Banana
  • Coconut rum
  • Glassware
  • Coconut cream
  • Pineapple wedge
  • Pineapple juice
  • Strawberries
  • Light rum
  • 1 oz. light rum
  • 1 oz. coconut rum
  • 2 oz. pineapple juice
  • 2 oz. coconut cream
  • 2 strawberries
  • 1 banana

Step1
Blend the coconut rum, light rum and strawberries together and pour into the bottom of a tall empty hurricane glass.
Step2
Clean the blender.
Step3
Blend the banana, coconut cream and pineapple juice.
Step4
Pour the concoction into the hurricane glass slowly, and the strawberry mixture will "flow" up the sides of the glass, giving it a cool lava effect.
Step5
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to use a hurricane glass or some other glass with a rounded bottom so the strawberry mixture will "flow" up the sides.
  • Use fresh juice for the best taste.
  • Don't drink and drive.
