How to Survive Infinite Mode in Dead Rising, Part 2

Now that you've gotten some of the big obvious ones down, here are some of the finer points about living through Infinite Mode. Many of the points pertain to obtaining the five and seven day Survivor Achievements, since those can only be obtained through Infinite Mode.

Instructions

    • 1

Kill Adam the Clown. He usually shows up around the end of the first day and, as with 72 hour Mode, he gives you his Mini-Chainsaws as a reward. See our eHow Related Article on defeating him for full details.

Defeat Psychopaths for their food! If at all possible, try not to snag the food from the mall itself unless you REALLY need to! All psychopaths and survivors have a large supply of food on them and, when combined with the health books, can keep you alive for a nice long time.

Kill survivors for their food. It seems everyone has gone a little nuts, because the minute you hit the roof, Otis attacks you with a baseball bat! Thankfully, the survivors are pretty dumb, so just tool them until they die. The catch is that they have really hardy constitutions (tons of hit points) and will take a bit of pepper to bring down.

Camp on the roof. This is still a safe place, provided you defeated Otis (traitor!). Bring as much food as you can carry up here, grab a book, then wait for your health to go down. Take a bite of food when you get low enough. Just make sure you stay at least vaguely aware of your health counter, you don't want to starve!

    • 5

Consider investing in some rechargeable batteries. When waiting for your health to drop and timing the next food intake, you don't want the batteries on your wireless controller failing and causing you to starve!

    • 6

Entertain yourself. The easiest way to get the five and seven day Survivor Achievements practically requires Frank to sit on his duff for around 14 real hours, eating every few minutes. Your health will completely drain in 20 minutes, meaning you'll need a full recharge every 19 minutes and 45 seconds. Stock up enough food for a few hour's camping, then take it easy for 19 minutes.

Consider investing in a timer of some sort. A stopwatch or small alarm clock would be ideal. Set it for 19 minutes. When it beeps, take a bite of something that cranks your health to full. If you've got the health books, Wine or OJ will crank you up all the way.
