Step 3
Enjoy an evening of fine dining and fun drinking in a unique atmosphere at the Abbey Restaurant & Tavern. Housed in a former Presbyterian Church on West Freemason Street, the restaurant goes beyond its one-of-a-kind setting to serve excellent seafood treats and land delights.

Step 4
See what's in bloom at the Norfolk Botanical Garden on Azalea Garden Road, which impresses with wonderful roses, quintessential Japanese Garden, and imposing statues paying tribute to some legendary artists. Step 5
Have a fun and funky night out in the hip and historic Ghent neighborhood. Kelly's Tavern offers a casual environment and very eclectic crowd; Cogans Instant Art Bar is a local favorite with frequent off-beat bands playing; and the Tap House Bar and Grill has a comfortable ambience and nearly endless selection of brews.

Step 6
Return to Virginia's distant past with a visit to the 1792 Moses Myers House, a gorgeous example of Georgian architecture and tribute to the city's first Jewish resident. The handsome home is located on Bank Street, but those wishing to take a tour should head to the Freemason Street Reception Center on East Freemason Street.

Step 7
Enjoy a site of great "general" interest by stopping by the Douglas MacArthur Memorial, composed of four structures in downtown's MacArthur Square. A museum to the legendary military leader is located in Norfolk's tasteful City Hall, and elsewhere in the memorial you'll find exhibit galleries, archives and a gift shop.
