Washington State beaches along the Pacific can provide a beautiful escape. But if an escape is what you are looking for, you'll want to find a quiet beach in Washington. If that's the case, here are some starting points.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Find a place where you can camp, hike and have access to nearly thirty miles of ocean beach in Cape Disappointment State Park, near Ilwaco, Washington.
Step2
Find the Twin Harbors Beach State Park near Westport, Washington. There, you can relax in the sun along the Pacific coast and even keep an eye out for whales off the shore.
Step3
Consider a trip to Grayland Beach State Park if you are near Westport but want a change of scenery from Twin Harbors Beach. You'll have access to over a mile of beach where you can relax and enjoy the surf and scenery.
Step4
Consider a trip to South Whidbey Island State Park if you are looking for a quiet beach that's more suited for swimming. The park is located along Amiralty Inlet, north of Freeport, and offers nearly a mile of beach as well as over three miles of hiking trails.
Step5
Consider Ocean City State Park if you are near Ocean Shores, Washington, and are looking for a beach amidst the dunes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to have a chance to relax for a longer period, consider camping at any of the above parks rather than limiting them to day use.
  • Most beaches are at their quietest in the mornings and evenings.
  • Want a better chance of avoiding the crowds even at more popular beaches? Plan your trip for weekdays rather than weekends.
  • Not all Washington beaches are conducive to swimming, as the waters of the Pacific can remain quite cold year-round.
