Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Consider Vermont's northern area, which is home to a number of lakes including Lake Carmi. When you travel to Lake Carmi State Park in Enosberg Falls, you'll be able to find a nice quiet area along the beach which stretches for over two miles.
Step2
Consider Barton, Vermont, home to a beach along Crystal Lake. The Crystal Lake State Park provides not only a swimming area but also over a mile of beach.
Step3
Try the longest beach in Vermont, which is amid the Champlain Islands. Alburg, Vermont is home to the Alburg Dunes State Park--an area remote enough that you'll have to bring your own drinking water as none is available at the park.
Step4
Find Lake Shaftsbury State Park in southern Vermont. Even though Lake Shaftsbury is a small lake, there's plenty of space to quietly enjoy it.
Step5
Find a number of secluded swimming areas, as well as established beaches such as those at Boulder Beach State Park, if you're in the area of Groton.
