How to Find a Quiet Beach in Rhode Island

Rhode Island is a small state, but that doesn't mean it's crowded. If you are trying to find a quiet beach in Rhode Island, you're in luck. Here are some places to look.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Consider Charleston Beach in New Shoreham, which tends to be among the least crowded beaches in Rhode Island. Parking is available nearby and it's a good area for fishing; but because the beach does not offer other services--like lifeguards or restrooms--it is a great choice if you want to have some beach space all to yourself.
Step2
Find three miles of ocean beach at East Beach and Ninigret State Beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island. There, especially on the barrier beaches, you'll find quiet space for your day at the beach.
Step3
Consider Burlingame State Park in Charlestown if you would rather be at a freshwater beach. This is a great place for camping.
Step4
Try Conimicut Point Beach in Warwick, Rhode Island, which offers plenty to do.

Tips & Warnings

  • Beaches are most quiet on weekdays.
  • Beaches tend to be less crowded in the mornings and evenings than in the afternoons.
  • There are fees associated with many of the beaches in Rhode Island.
