Mountains. Lakes. A bit of sea coast on the Atlantic. New Hampshire is a beautiful place. But where do you go if you want to find a quiet beach to unwind? Here are some suggestions.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Try Greenfield State Park if you are looking for a quiet beach in the Greenfield, New Hampshire area. There are a number of small ponds as well as Otter Lake, and because the area is mostly undeveloped it's not hard to find a quiet spot.
Step2
Consider Hampton Beach State Park which has a number of beach areas. Try North Beach, Wallis Sands Beach and Jenness Beach if you're looking for a quiet place to be.
Step3
Try Forest Lake State Park in Dalton, New Hampshire, which will give you access to a small but quiet beach as well as mountain biking, hiking and spaces that are great for picnics.
Step4
Consider Moose Brook State Park in Gorham, New Hampshire, which offers quiet swimming and fishing in the Moose River.
Step5
Consider making the trip to Silver Lake State Park if you are near Hollis, New Hampshire. There, you can rent a kayak and paddle across the lake to more remote areas away from the crowd.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make plans to go to the beach on weekdays or in the mornings when they are less crowded if you want to be sure to find a quiet beach.
  • Many New Hampshire beach areas are open for limited periods during the year--weekends only in the early summer and closing soon after Labor Day.
