Dogs get tired of the same old food day in and day out. From time to time they deserve a treat...especially if they're being good little girls and boys. Here is a recipe for easy, cheesy dog biscuits that are tasty as well as good for your dog. Makes 2 to 3 dozen biscuits

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 lb. margarine
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Approx. 1 tbsp. milk
  • Knife or Cookie Cutter

Step1
Grate cheese and let stand until room temp.
Step2
Cream the cheese with softened margarine, garlic and flour
Step3
Add enough milk to form a ball and chill about 1/2 hour
Step4
Roll onto floured board and cut into dog biscuit shapes
Step5
Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes

Tips & Warnings

  • You may have heard that garlic can be toxic to dogs. True…that is if your dog eats the equivalent of about 50 cloves in one sitting. On the contrary, small amounts of garlic as found in these biscuits actually contain healing and immune boosting properties…as well as serve as a natural flea repellent.
  • Let Fido mange (that's MON-jeh) the garlic…as long as he doesn’t go to town. With garlic as with the other main ingredient, cheese…the key is moderation, moderation, moderation.
