You can use Slashdot's journal capability to create your own Slashdot news stories, start discussion threads or simply vent your musings on any topic. Journals are also a great way to connect with other Slashdot users. You can post comments on other users' journal entries, respond to other users' comments on your own and make your voice heard.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Current Slashdot account

Step12

Tips & Warnings

  • Find helpful answers at the Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) page (see Resources below). Use the FAQ page if you get stuck trying to create your own journal on Slashdot, or if you have unanswered queries about the different settings to publicize or publish your entries.
  • Remember that you must select "Comments Enabled" from the Comments drop-down menu in order to publicize or publish your journal entry. Disabling comments will render the journal entry visible only to you.
  • Ensure that you've selected the desired privacy settings in Slashdot's Preferences menu, so that only the personal information you want shared is visible to other users when you publish your journal entries.
