People who use bookmarks on their computers know how much they come to rely on them. Del.icio.us now offers a service that will store and organize your bookmarks online and allow you to access them at any time from any computer.

• Computer with Internet access
• Internet browser compatible with del.icio.us

Register on Del.icio.us to Store Bookmarks

1. Go online to access the del.icio.us homepage and click on the "Get Started" link (see Resources below).

2. Choose a username and fill in the field. This username will be identify you to other del.icio.us users.

3. Select a password and enter it twice. Del.icio.us requires that passwords be at least six characters long and contain at least one letter and one number or symbol.

4. Provide your email address in the appropriate field and then duplicate the image you see in the field provided. Some Web sites include visual codes with scrambled letters to avoid computers from producing spam messages.

Install Del.icio.us on Your Internet Browser

1. Click on the "Install Buttons Now" link. Del.icio.us will install buttons on your browser's toolbar.

2. Run the installation program on your computer when prompted by a dialogue box that appears in your browser window.

3. Read the license agreement and Select the "I Agree" button to proceed.

4. Save del.icio.us to your program files or another selected folder.

Store Bookmarks Online Using Del.icio.us

1. Click on the square del.icio.us icon and go to the "Your Favorites" link to access your bookmark list.

2. Use the "Tag" button to save Web site pages to your del.icio.us bookmark list. Create written tags that best identify a category for your bookmark. Consider selecting tags that other people have used.

3. Add notes to your bookmarks. In addition to a Tag description, you can add longer notes to explain the Web site further.

4. Choose to send your bookmark to another del.icio.us user in your network.

5. View your bookmarks chronologically or view them based on your tags. View your tags in cloud or list format.
