How to Check Yahoo! News on Your Cell Phone

Accessing content on your cell phone has never been easier. Owners with phones purchased after 2003 likely have a Web-enabled cell that can access email, search maps and even read the latest current events from Yahoo! News. If you're always on the go and yet you can't live without your Yahoo! News bites, it's easy to stay informed wherever you travels take you.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet connection
  • Calling plan that supports Web usage
  • Web-enabled cell phone

Check Yahoo! News on Your Cell Phone Via the Web

Step1
Log on to the Yahoo! Mobile Web site (see Resources below).
Step2
Select the Mobile Web tab.
Step3
Type your cell-phone number, including area code, into the form.
Step4
Click "Send To My Phone."
Step5
Follow the instructions and the link provided in the resulting text message.
Step6
Scroll to the News button to read the latest.

Check Yahoo! News on Your Cell Phone Without the Web

Step1
Type the URL "m.yahoo.com" into your cell phone's Web browser address bar and click "Send." Let the page load.
Step2
Scroll down the list of options and click "News."
Step3
Load the page and view the list of available articles. Click on specific articles or on different sub-categories to view the offered content.

Tips & Warnings

  • Set up a Yahoo! account if you don't already have one before attempting to access content on the Web. Click "Sign Up" on the Yahoo! Mobile homepage to execute this fast and free process.

  • If you're a Verizon cell-phone user, use the "Check Yahoo! News on Your Cell Phone Without the Web" section, as the Web form may malfunction.
  • If you're not sure of your cell phone's Web capabilities, check with your carrier before beginning the process. Even if your phone is Web enabled, you may not have a calling plan that supports usage.
