How to Search for Rental Properties on Yahoo! Real Estate

The popular Yahoo! Real Estate Web site is not just for folks looking to purchase houses; you'll find plenty of listings for rentals too. Renters looking for single-family homes, apartments and town homes will all find relevant results with the powerful search tools available on the site. Whether you're a regular Yahoo! member or a new convert, you'll find the Web site's features easy to use and effective.

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet connection
  • Computer

    Complete the Yahoo! Real Estate Rental Properties Form

  1. Step 1

    Log on to the Yahoo! Real Estate homepage (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Click the Apartment Rentals tab.

  3. Step 3

    Enter your location (it may be pre-populated if you're a returning Yahoo! user). Use either city and state or a zip code.

  4. Step 4

    Choose the type of home you're looking to rent under the Listing Type pull-down menu.

  5. Step 5

    Enter your desired price range, the number of bedrooms you want and your optimal number of bathrooms. This information is not required, but will help narrow search results.

  6. Step 6

    Click "Search" to view the available listings.

  7. Interpret the Yahoo! Real Estate Rental Properties Listings

  8. Step 1

    Click on each listing to view the pertinent details of the rental property. You'll find a photo (if available) and basic information on the rental property, including price per month, location and listing date.

  9. Step 2

    Click the small map that appears next to each listing to view its exact location.

  10. Step 3

    Change your search parameters to increase or decrease the number of results in the Refine Results section.

  11. Step 4

    Click a specific listing to read all known details and gather contact information for the property.
