Book Lodging for Your Trip to Whitecap Mountains

Step1
Book accommodations via the Whitecap Mountains Web site (see Resources below) or call (800) 933-7669.
Step2
Consider booking moderate to expensive mountain chalet- or den-style accommodations in the many properties in the Whitecap Mountains resort. You can book a den to yourself or half of a two-unit house and ski-in, ski-out during your trip.
Step3
Stay at Whitecap Mountains' Davos Swiss Inn from Monday through Thursday. These convenient, moderately priced European-style accommodations are designed to provide the midweek skier with the comforts of staying on the resort and the ability to relax away from the main lodge during their trip.
Step4
Book moderately priced Swiss hotel-style accommodations at the main Whitecap lodge. The lodge offers an indoor pool and sauna to complement its rooms. Suites are available complete with kitchenettes and a view of nearby Weber Lake.

Get to Know Your Ski Destination

Step1
Fly to Duluth International Airport (DLH), about a 2.5-hour drive from Whitecap Mountains.
Step2
Check the weather and ski conditions via the Whitecap Mountains Web site.
Step3
Explore the three naturally snow-capped mountains available for skiing and winter sports at Whitecap Mountains Ski Area. The resort is home to Thunderhead Mountain, Eagles Nest Mountain and its namesake Whitecap Mountain. The vertical drop is 450 feet.

Prepare for the Slopes at Whitecap Mountains

Step1
Practice skiing in the beginner's area when you begin your ski trip at Whitecap Mountains. Move on to more challenging slopes as you gain confidence and familiarity with the southwest Wisconsin mountain surroundings.
Step2
Pick up a trail map before you hit one of the 43 trails on three mountains at Whitecap Mountains Ski Area. Trail maps are located next to the lift ticket window, and are invaluable for making sure you are hitting the right slopes for your experience level.
Step3
Take advantage of the full service ski and snowboard rental facilities. Ski and snowboard equipment can be rented at the main lodge.
Step4
Ski with the kids at the Polar Bear Bowl, dedicated to miniature skiers. Help children learn to ski on the baby hill and watch their faces as they enjoy the magic carpet lift designed just for them.
