Book Accommodations for Your Cascade Mountain Ski Trip

Step1
Book accommodations through the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau via their Web site (see Resources below) or by calling (800) 373-6376. Cascade Mountain does not offer any on-site lodging; your best bet is to find somewhere in town, near dining and shopping.
Step2
Take the family to one of the chalet-style resort hotels in Wisconsin Dells, where you'll find family-friendly amenities, heated pools and even indoor theme parks.
Step3
Book a week at a ski condo or a rustic cottage. Keep in mind that even a Lake Denton one-bedroom cottage can be pricey during the peak season, as can upscale condos near Castle Rock Lake.
Step4
Book a room at an affordable chain motel or hotel in Wisconsin Dells. In particular, look for affordable accommodations on Fern Dell Road, US Hwy. 12 and Wisconsin Dells Parkway.

Discover Cascade Mountain Ski Resort Basics

Step1
Take the Interstate. Skiers and snowboarders from Chicago, Madison and Milwaukee can all get to Cascade Mountain via I-90/I-94.
Step2
Explore the runs with an eye for skill level. Take it easy on the Daisy Run or Badger Pass, take it to the next level on J.J. or Ptarmigan or show off your advanced skills on Mogul Monster or Manitou.
Step3
Buy a lift ticket on-site, as Cascade Mountain does not yet offer online ticket purchases. Consider that the adult flex ticket (eight consecutive hours) costs less than an all-day pass or two-day ticket, but more than a night ticket.
Step4
Rent skis or a snowboard for the day or take advantage of bargain rental prices during night skiing.
Step5
Check the weather forecast, get a snow report and explore which runs are open at the official Website for Cascade Mountain (see Resources below).
Step6
Get comfortable on your ski trip by taking a 90-minute group ski lesson or save money on the "Learn to Turn" package, which offers a beginner lesson, equipment rental and a flex ticket for a discounted price.

Tips & Warnings

  • Beat the crowds by arriving at Cascade Mountain when the lifts open at 9 a.m.
  • The Flex Rental program allows you to trade in your skis for a snowboard at no extra charge.
  • An adult Beginner Area Flex Ticket allows you to explore Magic Carpet, Schoolmarm, Bunny and Cottontail runs for less than a regular ticket.
  • Search for package deals by booking your accommodations online. You can often compare packages directly to find one that suits your needs.
  • Cascade Mountain is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
