Book a trip to Timberline, West Virginia, and you won't run out of trails to ski. With 36 runs, newly upgraded snow-making equipment and over 150 inches of snow annually, conditions are typically excellent. The resort, located four hours from Washington D.C. in the Allegheny Mountains on Route 32, has a vertical drop of 1,000 feet and a 4,250-foot summit.

Book a Ski Trip to Timberline

Step1
Use the online reservations system on the Timberline Resort Web site (see Resources below). Click the 'Lodging' link, then 'Reservation Request.' Select the dates that you wish to spend at the Timberline Resort. Then choose what sort of lift ticket you would like to have.
Step2
Choose your style of accommodations.There are moderately priced bunkhouses and condos available through the resort that can be combined into a large assortment of packages. A wide variety of amenities are available, from ski-in-ski-out rooms to fireplaces, kitchens, hot-tubs and decks.
Step3
Call the resort at 1-800-SNOWING to book your accommodations by phone.
Step4
Choose to have your ski tickets mailed to for a small fee, or pick them up at the office when you get there. If you choose to have them delivered, you must be able to sign for delivery.

Enjoy Your Ski Trip to Timberline

Step1
Search the Web for other ski resorts in West Virginia that have long trails, and you'll likely find yourself coming back to Timberline. The resort has a few trails that are over 2 miles long, which on the East Coast is considerable.
Step2
Learn to ski. Save money by taking a group lesson, or opt for one-on-one attention with a private session. Women-only group lessons are also available.
Step3
Kids are welcomed and encouraged at Timberline. With several different types of day lessons and programs, your child can become an expert skier. If your kids aren't ready to take on the slopes, you can drop them at the resort's daycare center.
Step4
Bring the whole family and all your friends. You may be able to get lessons for a reduced rate.
