How to Go Skiing in Sitzmark Lifts, Washington

Sitzmark Lifts sits right on the border between the United States and Canada, in the town of Oroville, Washington. It offers a variety of challenges for all levels of skiers, and boasts 19 trails, cross-country skiing trails and ski and snowboard rentals. While not the largest ski area in the state, Sitzmark Lifts provides a great alternative to the larger, more crowded slopes.

    Book Accommodations Near Sitzmark Lifts

  1. Step 1

    Book your lodging by calling Washington State Tourism at 1-800-544-1800 or using its official Web site (see Resources below). Click on 'Accommodations' on the main page, then choose the 'View Listings' link. Lodgings are listed alphabetically, so click through to 'O' for 'Oroville.' Here you'll find a very limited number of accommodations.

  2. Step 2

    Park your RV in one of three nearby parks, or rent a rustic cabin at a local ranch. Enjoy the fresh air and wide open spaces for budget rates.

  3. Travel to Sitzmark Lifts

  4. Step 1

    Book a flight into a major airport in Seattle, Spokane or Vancouver. Oroville is located quite a distance from each of these airports, but Spokane is the closest.

    Book a rental car to make the trip north to Oroville, situated on the Canadian border. Get driving directions by calling Sitzmark Lifts at 1-509-485-3323.

  • Sitzmark Lifts does not have its own Web site, but you can find information about it on several skiing Web sites.
  • The ski season at Sitzmark Lifts is fairly short, because the average snowfall in this part of Washington is only 48 inches. The season lasts from December through March.
  • The ski area is usually only open on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, so plan your trip accordingly.
