How to Go Skiing in Mt. Spokane, Washington

Located just 10 miles outside of Spokane in eastern Washington, Mt. Spokane promises challenge and fun to skiers of all levels and ages, but is especially appealing to skiers looking for some advanced runs and terrain. If you live in the Spokane area or have travel plans to be in eastern Washington, you don't need to travel any further for excellent Northwest skiing than Mt. Spokane.

Book Accommodations Near Mt. Spokane

Step1
Reserve accommodations through the Washington State Tourism Web site (see Resources below). You can also call them at 800-544-1800 for help with reservations.
Step2
Look for lodging in nearby Mead or the northern part of Spokane. You'll find a number of budget chain hotels in Mead, as well as inexpensive bed and breakfasts in historic old buildings. If you have an RV, you can stay in an area RV park with a shared indoor pool.

Travel to Mt. Spokane

Step1
Book a flight into the Spokane International Airport if coming from out of state.
Step2
Drive along Hwy. 206 from Mead to Mt. Spokane Drive. Take Mt. Spokane Drive approximately 15 miles to the ski area. If driving from Spokane, take I-90 to Hwy. 395 to Hwy. 206.

Enjoy Your Washington Ski Trip

Step1
Buy a season pass if you plan on frequenting Mt. Spokane often. A season pass is roughly the equivalent of 10 daily ski lift tickets, and it also affords you discounts on other nearby ski areas. Look for discounts for students, children and seniors, too.
Step2
Try night skiing. This challenging option is available at various times throughout the ski season. Check out the 'Calendar/Events' section of the ski area's Web site (see Resources below).
Step3
Check weather and ski conditions to prepare for your trip to Mt. Spokane. Look for the 'Snow Report' link on the upper left corner of the Mt. Spokane Web site. Click on the 'Webcam' link for frequently updated shots of the slopes and area.
Step4
Enjoy an elevation of 5,889 feet with a skiable vertical drop of 2,000 feet when you book a ski trip to Mt. Spokane.

  • Booking online allows you to make your reservations at your own convenience, any time of night or day.
  • Because Mt. Spokane is located in a state park, there is no lodging available on the mountain.
