How to Go Skiing in Cooper Spur, Oregon

Take a two-hour drive east of Portland along the mighty Columbia River to Cooper Spur Ski Resort, just north of Mt. Hood, the highest mountain in Oregon. Although the ski area itself is modest, with just 10 runs covering around 50 acres, Cooper Spur is one of the most complete winter resorts in Oregon. The mountain has a 394 foot vertical drop and a top elevation of 4,595 feet.

Book Your Trip to Cooper Spur

Step1
Check out the Web site for the Cooper Spur Ski Resort for information about accommodations, rental equipment, special discounts and ski conditions (see Resources below). Call the resort directly at 541-352-6692 to book your reservations. You can also book reservations online using 'Deal Maker' option on the Web site, where you can name your own price for vacation packages, including lift tickets, lodging and rental equipment. Reservations will be confirmed once you supply a valid credit card number.
Step2
Plan on staying at one of Cooper Spur's comfortable and spacious cabins or two-story condo suites, which can accommodate up to eight people, or just get one of six standard rooms at the hotel lodge at the resort. Hotel rooms are inexpensive to moderately priced, depending on when you book travel. Condo and cabin accommodations can be expensive.
Step3
Make reservations for group travel by booking accommodations at the resort's on-site four-bedroom Log Home.
Step4
Book your air flight to Portland, Oregon, which is located just 90 miles west of the Cooper Spur Ski Resort.
Step5
Reserve a rental car at the airport in Portland for the easiest and most efficient way to get to Cooper Spur.

Arrive at Cooper Spur

Step1
Book a spot in one of the ski schools, where you can receive lessons all day for just a few dollars.

Make arrangements with the Cooper Spur Mountain Resort Business Center if you're organizing a business conference or just a vacation getaway for your company.

Get reservations for The Spur Steakhouse, Cooper Spur's award-winning restaurant, which features locally-grown produce.
