How to Go Skiing in Hickory Ski Center, New York

Hickory Ski Center Ski Area in New York is set in an area of pristine, natural beauty, making it a wonderful escape for your next ski trip. The snow is all from mother nature as they do not have snowmaking machines. One reason to book your trip here is because of the 1,230 foot vertical drop. It is the sixth largest drop in New York state.

Book Lodging at Hickory Ski Center

Step1
Book lodging by visiting the Warrnesburg New York Chamber of Commerce Web site (see Resources below), or by calling them directly at 518-623-2161
Step2
Know that there are a number of cottages, condos, B&B's and motels near to the Hickory Ski Center. Prices range from cheap to moderate.
Step3
Choose a room at one of Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce listings, such as the Merrill Magee House and the Alynn's Butterfly Inn Bed & Breakfast. The Merrill Magee House has 10 rooms that have antiques and a fireplace inside. There is also a common area that has a sun room and a TV. In the mornings, a continental breakfast is offered. The Alynn's Butterfly Inn has 5 bedrooms. It comes with a jacuzzi tub, TV and fireplace. A breakfast is included as well. Internet access is also provided.

Get to Know Hickory Ski Center

Step1
Land at the Albany Airport in Albany, New York. The airport is approximately 66 miles from the Hickory Ski Center. To arrive by car from Albany, take I-87 north to exit 23. Continue to Hickory Ski Center.
Step2
Know that Hickory Ski Center's summit elevation is 1,900 feet. The vertical drop is 1,230 feet. Hickory Ski Center has an average snowfall of 75 inches.
Step3
Enjoy Hickory Ski Center's 19 trails and 4 lifts. Hickory Ski Center does not offer night skiing.

Know that the Warrensburg New York area has water that is so clean that the daily drinking water comes right from Lake George.

on 10/8/2008 Regarding Hickory Hill Ski Center, please know that a very nice B&B is located just a few hundred feet from the ski center's parking lot: countryroadlodge.com.

Also, Warrensburg does not get its drinking water from Lake George but from wells in the Adirondack forest.
