Located in Vernon Township, Mountain Creek is a ski area owned and operated by ski giant IntraWest. With an average annual snowfall of 65 feet, the resort is known for its excellent night skiing, challenging terrain and more than 1,000-foot vertical drop. The largest ski area in New Jersey, Mountain Creek offers 46 miles of trails over 170 skiable acres, with 42 percent of those geared toward intermediate skiers.

Plan Your Stay in Mountain Creek

Step1
Book one of Mountain Creek's pre-planned packages to secure lodging on-site among the resort's townhomes. From the Mountain Creek Web site homepage (See Resources below), click 'Deals' and then 'Lodging Deals' to see lift and lodging combo packages, romance-themed packages and more. You may also call 1-888-767-0762 to book.
Step2
Reserve rooms at one of Mountain Creek's exclusive lodges, The Appalachain or Black Creek Sanctuary. The Appalachian is a ski-in/ski-out hotel, while Black Creek is a collection of townhomes with up to three bedrooms. Prices range from moderate to expensive.
Step3
Drive 1.5 hours outside of New York City to reach Mountain Creek, or fly into the closet airport, Newark International Airport in New Jersey. Rent a car or take a trip on one of the convenient shuttle buses from the airport to the resort.
Step4
Arrive at Mountain Creek and proceed directly to the Vernon Base, where you will be able to purchase lift tickets/area passes, rent equipment and reserve lessons, classes and other activities.

Hit the Slopes at Mountain Creek

Step1
Ski Mountain Creek's five terrain parks, which cover 20 percent of the entire resort. There are seven trails that are mainly geared toward intermediate and advanced skiers.
Step2
Have a blast after the sun goes down with Mountain Valley's unbeatable night skiing. 45 out of the area's 46 trails are lit for night, and the SuperPipe offers stadium lighting. Guided night tours are also available.
Step3
Slide a snow tube down one of Mountain Creek's six tubing chutes. With sled-like fun and exhilarating speeds, as well as night-lighting and a Magic Carpet people mover to take you right back to the top, Mountain Creek's tubing area is fun for the whole family.
