Zip down 22 miles of trails at Cannon Mountain, which is located in Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire. The area boasts an annual snowfall averaging 150 inches and a summit of 4,186 feet. The 165 acres of skiing and snowboarding, with 9 beginner runs, 26 advanced runs and 20 expert runs, will give you all the space you need to practice skiing in the picturesque New Hampshire mountains.

    Plan Your Ski Trip to Cannon Mountain

  1. Step 1

    Call 800-FUN-IN-NH or visit the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism Development Web site to book your lodging online (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Gather a few friends and share the cost of a chalet for your ski trip. Townhouses near Cannon Mountain are available with weekend packages including ski tickets. Prices range from moderate to expensive.

  3. Step 3

    Enjoy an aprés ski reception and a live band all at a local inn. Rooms are available at moderate prices including peak holiday times.

  4. Step 4

    Stay only 5 minutes from Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire by making reservations in Franconia. Here you'll find moderately priced, standard rooms at a range of traditional lodging establishments.

    Plan to drive to New Hampshire from Boston. It's only 2 ½ hours to Cannon Mountain, which is located off Interstate 93.

    Buy a Buddy Pass for additional savings over the single ticket price if you plan on frequenting Cannon Mountain during ski season.

Tips & Warnings

  • The mountains are usually more crowded during vacation weeks, so book your ski trip outside of the holidays for better deals on lodging.
  • Bring your identification. Children under 5 can ski for free and there are discounts for college students.
  • Pack a winter kit in your car when you head to the mountains for a ski trip. Weather can change fast and you should carry extra food and water in addition to warm clothing.
