You'll find 18 percent of the runs designed for beginners, 46 percent for intermediate skiers and 36 percent for experts.

Book Accommodations and Travel for Your Ski Trip

Step1
Book a ski-and-stay package online at the Diamond Peak Web site and save money on your lift tickets (see Resources below). If you'd rather book by phone, just call the resort at 1-877-332-9465.
Step2
Choose from a variety of accommodations in North Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe and Reno. Prices are moderately cheap to fairly expensive depending on the property. Take your pick from glitzy hotels with casinos, quaint ski chalets and familiar chain motels.
Step3
Fly into the Reno/Tahoe International Airport, the closest commercial airport to Diamond Peak, then rent a car to get to your lodging and to the Diamond Peak Ski Area.
Step4
Take a trip on the North Lake Tahoe Express airport shuttle to get from the airport to your lodging.

Make Arrangements for Tickets, Lessons and Equipment

Save money by buying season passes early. Discounted season passes are available through the third week in December.

Buy an all-day lift ticket or a half-day lift ticket for lower rates during the early season and for slightly more during the regular season. Buy a multi-day ticket to save time and money: 2-day and 3-day lift tickets are both available.
