How to Go Skiing in Teton Pass, Montana

Book a ski trip to the Teton Pass Ski Area and see what Choteau, Montana has to offer. With an annual snowfall of 250 inches, a summit elevation of 8,488 feet and a 1,000-foot vertical drop, the 26 runs at Teton Pass are fun for beginning, intermediate and advanced skiers alike.

Book Your Ski Trip Accommodations and Travel

Step1
Visit the 'Lodging' page of the Teton Pass Ski Area Web site (see Resources below). Here, you'll find a listing of nearby accommodations along with contact information. You'll need to call or email the properties directly to book. Call the ski area at (406) 466-2209 if you run into problems.
Step2
Know your lodging options and limitations. Choteau, Montana is the closest city to the Teton Pass Ski Area. It is a small town and it doesn't have a huge number of accommodations. A few motels and inns are available, however. Prices are reasonable, and rooms tend to be basic but comfortable.
Step3
Expand your lodging search to include Shelby, Great Falls and Conrad if you want a bit more to choose from.
Step4
Land in Great Falls, Montana, where you'll find the closest commercial airport to the Teton Pass Ski Area.
Step5
Rent a car to get to your accommodations in Choteau, Montana and the Teton Pass Ski Area, or reserve a spot on the ski bus to get there from Shelby, Conrad or Choteau. The bus requires a minimum of 20 riders to make the trip. See the 'Bus Ride' page of the Teton Pass Ski Area Web site for details.

Make Arrangements for Tickets, Lessons and Equipment

Step1
Rent ski equimpment at the Teton Pass Ski Area if you don't have your own. Skis rental packages, which include boots, poles and skis, are available for reasonable rates. Equipment is available individually, too.

Take advantage the ski school. Group and private lessons are both available. You can save money by compromising with a semi-private lesson, too.
Step3
Purchase a 5-day or 10-day pass to cover your ski vacation activities. Kids' passes are about half-price.

Take advantage of snowboarding opportunities at Teton Pass Ski Area. Two runs have natural half-pipe formations--great for showing off your skills.
