Book a ski trip to Red Lodge Mountain Resort in Montana to experience 71 trails of Alpine skiing, 50 km of cross-country ski trails, snowboarding, and a terrain park. The base elevation at Red Lodge Mountain is 7,016 feet, the summit elevation is 9,416 feet and there's a vertical drop of 2,400 feet. The mountain has an annual snowfall of about 250 inches.

    Book Your Accommodations and Travel

  1. Step 1

    Check the Red Lodge Mountain Web site for current ski-and-stay package deals. The 'Accommodations' page lists a number of area lodging options complete with photos and links. Call the resort at 1-800-444-8977 or email res@redlodgemountain.com to book.

  2. Step 2

    Consider all of your lodging options. The area in and around Red Lodge has inns, cottages, bed and breakfasts and hotels, many of which feature authentic log-cabin construction. Prices tend to be fairly moderate.

  3. Step 3

    Know where to land. The closest commercial airport to Red Lodge Mountain Resort is in Billings, Montana.

  4. Step 4

    Take a shuttle or taxi from the Billings airport to your accommodations in Red Lodge, Montana. The drive is scenic and takes a little more than an hour. You'll find the resort on Ski Run Road, which is off Highway 212.

  5. Make Arrangements for Tickets, Lessons and Equipment

    Contact Red Lodge Mountain to make your reservations for lift tickets and equipment rentals, or just purchase them when you arrive at the resort. Prices are reasonable.

  7. Step 2

    Learn about equipment rental opportunities and prices. Full-day ski equipment packages are moderately priced, and kids get a discount. Half-day packages are also available at lower rates. Rossignol and K2 skis are available, as are snowboards.

  8. Step 3

    Price out lift tickets and determine whether it makes sense for you to buy in bulk. Packages of six or ten tickets are offered at slightly lower rates, as are season passes.
