Big Sky is an all-purpose ski resort and vacation community located in the southern region of Montana. It offers a world-class mountain for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. Big Sky Resort has impressive statistics, boasting an 11,166-foot summit and almost 4,000 acres of ski terrain. The longest run is a full 6 miles, while the skiable vertical drop is well over 4,000 feet.

Book Your Trip to Big Sky

Step1
Visit the Web site of the Big Sky Resort (see Resources below). Click on the heading 'Lodging.' Browse through the 3 types of lodging options that are available at the Big Sky Resort: hotels, condominiums and cabins. You can also call 1-800-548-4486 to make your reservations.
Step2
Plan to lay down some bucks. Accommodations near Big Sky are heavy on luxury and ambiance. Prices range from the expensive to the very expensive. You can cut per-person costs somewhat by booking accommodations for a group.
Step3
Browse through the Montana lodging and lift ticket packages that are offered by choosing the 'Winter Packages' option on the Web site.
Step4
Click the 'On the Slopes' link for a list of ski-related topics. Click on each sub-heading to get specific information, such as lift ticket and gear rental prices, ski lesson options and mountain statistics.

Read a current ski report by hovering over 'On the Slopes' and clicking on the 'Snow Report' link.

Fly to the Bozeman/Big Sky Airport in Montana, and then rent a car to get to the Big Sky Resort.

  • There are about 150 official runs at Big Sky Resort: 17 percent of them are beginner, 25 percent are intermediate, 37 percent are advanced and 21 percent are expert.
