Bear Paw Ski Bowl is a family-oriented ski resort in northern Montana that offers downhill skiing and other winter sports activities. Bear Paw Ski Bowl is located in Hill County, about 1/2 an hour by car from the city of Havre. With more than 20 runs (1/4 of which are beginner, 1/4 intermediate and 1/2 advanced), a 5,280-foot elevation, a 900-foot vertical drop and 140 inches of average annual snowfall, Bear Paw Ski Bowl is a great place to enjoy a fun and exciting day on the slopes.

Step1

Book reservations at 1 of almost 20 local hotels. Hotels in the area range from budget accommodations to mid-level hotel/motels. Virtually all rooms near Bear Paw Ski Bowl are inexpensive in price.

Fly to the Havre City County Airport, and then rent a car to get to the Bear Paw Ski Bowl. You'll drive approximately 29 miles south of Havre to the Chippewa Cree Recreation Area.

  • Check out the names of the ski runs. Bear Paw Ski Bowl is located on the Chippewa Cree Recreation area, and a lot of its ski runs are named after prominent Chippewa Cree tribal members.
  • Bear Paw Ski Bowl does not offer ski or snowboard rentals on the hill, so be sure to rent your equipment at one of the rental shops in nearby Havre.
