Mount Bohemia is located close to Lac La Belle in the Upper Peninsula's Keweenaw Peninsula, and offers over 30 slopes and 71 runs. Mount Bohemia's slopes are primarily for advanced or expert skiers or snowboarders.

    Book a Ski Trip to Mount Bohemia

  1. Step 1

    Book a trailside cabin on-site at the resort. Click on the 'Lodging & Dining' link of the Mount Bohemia Web site (see Resources below) to read about these inexpensive, ski-in/ski-out cabins. Call Mount Bohemia at (906) 289-4105 to make your reservations.

  2. Step 2

    Rent a room near the resort. Locate local lodging by contacting the Keweenaw Chamber and Visitors Bureau at (906) 337-4579 or by visiting its Web site (see Resources below). Enjoy lake views and plenty of elbow room when you rent an inexpensive house, cabin or lodge room.

  3. Step 3

    Use a travel agent to locate accommodations near Lac La Belle. Group and special rates can sometimes be found. Many motels offer discounted rates for travel club members.

  4. Plan Your Ski Trip to Mount Bohemia

  5. Step 1

    Fly into the Houghton County Airport. Rent a car at the airport and drive to the resort. Mount Bohemia is nearly 40 miles north of Hancock. Take U.S. 41 north out of Hancock for 35 miles and then turn east onto Lac La Belle Road. Drive 4 miles to the resort.

  6. Step 2

    Be ready for the longest slopes and deepest chutes in the area. Snow levels at Mount Bohemia can reach 273 inches annually, and it's all natural. The Apex and Horseshoe chutes will test your expertise.

  7. Step 3

    The Outer Limits is a section that includes over 100 acres of exciting backcountry ski trails. The area is one of the most rugged and beautiful spots in Michigan.

  8. Step 4

    Explore other winter sports. The snowboarding is first-class, and nearby snowmobile trails are among the wildest that Michigan has to offer.

  9. Step 5

    Rent your ski and snowboarding equipment from the resort if you don't want the hassle of bringing your own. Call ahead for availability. Also call ahead for daily lift and chair lift tickets. All runs are available from the lift locations.

    Click on the 'Ski Conditions' link of the ski area's Web site to read a current ski report.

  11. Step 7

    Look forward to a vertical drop of 900 feet, the highest in the Midwest.
