How to Go Skiing in Mt. Abram, Maine

Just five minutes from Bethel, Maine, near the New Hampshire border, Mt. Abram Ski Resort is family friendly and welcomes skiers of all ages. It has 44 trails and a top elevation of 2,000 feet with a great view of the Lakes Region. The longest trail is 2.5 miles. The longest tubing park in Maine (1,325 feet) is located here, too.

Plan Your Ski Trip to Mt. Abram

Step1
Book your ski trip accommodations to Mt. Abram through the Maine Tourism Association. You can call (207) 623-0363 for assistance or visit the Web site for online booking (see Resources below).
Step2
Experience luxury accommodations at a country-club setting when you travel to Mt. Abram. These accommodations range from expensive to moderately priced, depending on the season.
Step3
Explore vacation rentals in the Mt. Abram area if you are traveling with a large group. These are very affordable, especially when you divide the cost of the rental among the travelers.
Step4
Book inexpensive accommodations at one of the motels near Mt. Abram.
Step5
Book a flight to Portland International Jetport and then rent a car.
Step6
Drive north on I-95 to Route 26. Head out on the highway to the junction of Route 26 and Route 2. If you need to go from Bangor, go south on Route 2.

Step1
Give a free day to a friend and get tubing free all season when you buy a season pass.
Step2
Shout, "Wheeeeeeeee!" as you tube down the longest tubing hill in Maine. There is night tubing in good weather.
Step3
Blast your way through a snowboarding terrain park with four-inch rails that were cut from a recycled monorail track.
Step4
Learn the ropes at the Mt. Abram Ski School. There are daily lessons for beginners, private lessons, and extended lessons for those ready to graduate to the harder runs. When you're really advanced, go on a Ski Adventure.

Conquer the mountain as you participate in the NASTAR racing program.
Step6
Swoosh down the mountain with no worries, while your little ones are at the Mt. Abram day care. Now you have no excuse for not going skiing!

Equip yourself from head to toe at the ski shop. They also have t-shirts, toys and food items made in Maine.
