How to Go Skiing in Fun Valley, Iowa

Fun Valley is located in the heart of Iowa, approximately 60 miles east of Des Moines and 50 miles west of Iowa City. The resort is a fully operational ski and snowboard facility with a terrain park, a half-pipe and an area set aside for snowtubing. The ski area covers more than 35 miles of skiable terrain with five lifts capable of transporting 4,800 people per hour to the resort's 14 trails. Fun Valley offers daily discounts and promotional pricing for special events. The facility also offers a broad range of private and group lesson, children's programs and equipment rentals.

Book Accommodations Near Fun Valley

Step1
Book accommodations at the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site (see Resources below) or by calling (800) 451-2625.

Find accommodations in the city of Montezuma, located about two miles northeast of Fun Valley. Choose from a variety of homey, moderately priced hotels, motels, inns and bed and breakfasts.

Prepare for Your Trip to Fun Valley

Research rates and purchase lift tickets in advance of your trip to take advantage of online-only discounts through the Fun Valley Web site (see Resources below). You may also call the resort directly at (641) 623-3456.

Fly into Des Moines International Airport, located about 65 miles from Fun Valley.

Make your way to Fun Valley by taking Highway 63 south off of I-80. The ski area is less than 60 miles from Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Ottumwa and Marshalltown.
