How to Go Skiing in Silver Mountain, Idaho

Silver Mountain Resort is a gorgeous ski and snowboard haven seated in northern Idaho in the city of Kellogg. With two mountains enclosed within the ski area, snow enthusiasts can have twice the fun, enjoying a 2,200-foot vertical drop and a peak elevation of 5,700 feet.

Know Your Destination

Step1
Tracing back over 100 years ago, the location of the Silver Mountain ski resort was once a booming silver and gold mining operation, the Bunker Hill lode.
Step2
Embark on the world's longest gondola, spanning 3.1 miles and taking 20 minutes to reach Mountain Haus at 5,650 feet. Along the way you'll pass 15 different towers, giving you a great view of the surrounding area.
Step3
Cruise down the mountain on one of the 67 different trails that span 1,600 acres and two mountains and that receive 300 inches of snow a year. In addition, there is glade skiing and other adventures awaiting you.
Step4
Buy a full day or half-day lift ticket for a price that's very affordable or a ticket for two hours of snow tubing. Those who plan on using the mountain for an entire season can buy a season pass; children, seniors and students can get discounted rates.

Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Silver Mountain

Step1
Escape to Silver Mountain, Idaho by taking exit 49 off Interstate 90. The resort is less than a mile off the I-90.
Step2
Book a flight from as far as Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Seattle/Tacoma or Portland and fly into the Spokane International Airport. The airport services most major airlines and is only 75 miles away from the Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, Idaho.

Book Accommodations Near Silver Mountain

Step1
Relax in the luxurious Morning Star Lodge situated in the Gondola Village and offering not only one-and two-bedroom rooms but also studios. Recharge after a long day of activities in the rooftop hot tubs.
Step2
Save on lift tickets by staying for at least four nights at the Morning Star Lodge--you can receive free lift tickets for all 4 of those days. You can also usually get better prices or comps when you book longer stays.
Step3
