How to Go Skiing in Pomerelle Mountain, Idaho

Pomerelle Mountain Resort can be found in the southernmost part of Idaho, close to the Utah border. Pomerelle's vertical drop is 1,000 feet--not one of Idaho's highest but still thrilling. Expect family fun spread over 500 acres at this unique ski area.

Book Accommodations Near Pomerelle

Step1
Look for ski trip accommodations on the Idaho Division of Tourism Development Web site (see Resources below). You can also call the department at (860) 567-4506.
Step2
Stay at a bed and breakfast in Albion, Idaho. While per-night rates will be pricier than in chain motels, you can still find moderately affordable rooms.
Step3
You will not find any lodging at the Pomerelle Mountain Resort but instead in nearby cities. Lodging can be found in Burley, just 28 miles away, in several well-known hotels and some local accommodations as well.

Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Pomerelle

Step1
Fly into Twin Falls from Salt Lake City, where direct flights depart up to five times a day. The flight is only an hour, and the drive from the Twin Falls airport to Pomerelle is around 80 miles.
Step2
Drive into Pomerelle Mountain, Idaho, situated in the Sawtooth National Forest in the city of Albion, less than 30 miles off Interstate 84. If you are coming from Boise or Salt Lake City, the drive is around 200 miles.

Know Your Destination

Step1
Gather up the whole family for your ski trip to Pomerelle Mountain. The resort is family-oriented with plenty of areas and trails for beginners and little kids.
Step2
Purchase a family season pass at moderately affordable prices. If you are bringing children under the age of six, they can be admitted for free along with a paying parent, but make sure your children ride the lifts with you.
Step3
Ski or snowboard for just one day or half a day. When you book your trip, you can purchase a full day pass inexpensively, depending on your age or the trail you choose.
Step4
Glide down one of the 24 trails, all of which are regularly groomed and manicured for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Forty percent of the trails are for beginners, 40 percent for intermediate and 20 percent for experts.
