How to Go Skiing in Pebble Creek, Idaho

Pebble Creek is a ski resort situated in the Caribou National Forest in southeastern Idaho just east of the city of Pocatello. Visitors can enjoy the sizeable 2,200-foot vertical drop as well as 1,100 acres of ski-able terrain. These impressive stats make Pebble Creek one of the largest ski areas in Idaho.

    Book Accommodations Near Pebble Creek

  1. Step 1

    Browse the Pocatello Convention & Visitors Bureau Web site to find and book lodging for your ski trip (see Resources below). You can also call (877) 922-7659 for more details.

  2. Step 2

    Stay in a local Lava Hot Springs inn and enjoy outdoor mineral pools as part of your stay. Most of the smaller, independent inns are moderately expensive.

  3. Step 3

    Save money on your lift tickets when you book reservations in nearby Lava Hot Springs hotels. A number of these hotels have standing arrangements to offer discounts to Pebble Creek visitors.

  4. Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Pebble Creek

    Fly into the Pocatello Municipal Airport from Salt Lake City aboard SkyWest or from Boise via Big Sky Airlines. Planes arrive seven times a day between the two airlines from around 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The airport also offers free parking.

  6. Step 2

    Drive to Pebble Creek, Idaho from different locations as far away as Boise, Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee. Regardless of the direction you are coming from, you will need to get on Highway 91, exit on Inkom Rd. and turn right onto Green Canyon.

  7. Know Your Destination

    Pebble Creek has a rich history reaching back over 50 years. The resort opens from December to March every day of the week (excluding Christmas Day) and from mid-March to mid-April from Wednesday to Sunday only.

  9. Step 2

    Glide down the mountain in the evening until 9:30 p.m. from January until early March on Fridays and Saturdays.

  10. Step 3

    Pebble Creek offers 50 runs that span 1,100 total acres. Roughly half of them are designated for advanced skiers and snowboarders. Pebble Creek prides itself on having numerous runs that attract the most extreme of skiers but also reserves 12 percent of its runs for beginners and 35 percent for intermediate skiers.

  11. Step 4

    Buy a season pass either for an adult, senior, child or for the entire family. Season passes and lift tickets are moderately priced. Children and seniors qualify for discounts.

  12. Step 5
