Magic Mountain, Idaho is a small ski resort located in southern Idaho along the border with Nevada and seated in the Sawtooth National Forest. With a base elevation of 6,500 feet and a peak elevation of 7,240 feet, this area contains 120 acres to ski on. With a vertical drop of 700 feet, Magic Mountain doesn't offer the biggest downhills, but its easy location has made it an Idaho favorite.

Choose Accommodations to Book Near Magic Mountain

Step1
Visit the Idaho Division of Tourism Development Web site (see Resources below) to find and book accommodations for your ski trip. You can also phone directly at (860) 567-4506 for further details.
Step2
Pack up your things and head for lodgings in Twin Falls, Idaho where you will find a decent amount of accommodation options. Most of the hotels are recognizable names and vary in price but are generally inexpensive.
Step3
There is no lodging at the Magic Mountain resort. The closest accommodations can be found in Twin Falls, which will leave you with a 30- to 40-minute drive to the ski resort.

Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Magic Mountain

Step1
Drive 160 miles from Boise with the most of the trip along the I-84 going east. You will pass through Jerome and Twin Falls on the way to Magic Mountain.
Step2
Drive from nearby Twin Falls, located over 35 miles to the west. To arrive in Magic Mountain from Twin Falls, simply take ID 50 and US 30 east for eight miles and then take Rock Creek Road south for 28 miles. Idaho Falls is also fairly close by, as is Pocatello and American Falls.

Call Magic Mountain in Idaho before leaving on your ski trip to find out the weather conditions and amount of snow. Dial (208) 423-6221.
Step2
Bring your snowboard to Magic Mountain. They welcome all snowboarders but do have certain restricted areas and requirements. They require a leash and do not have a half pipe but do have a shredding terrain park.
Step3
Sail into Magic Mountain ski resort ready to do some Alpine skiing. Night skiing is not available, along with heli-skiing, snowcat skiing, and snow tubing. Still, the 11 trails and 230 inches of annual snowfall will surely keep you busy during your ski trip.
Step4
Enjoy the longest run, which stretches 5,200 feet. The trails at Magic Mountain are distributed evenly among difficulty levels.
