Nestled in the gorgeous Targhee National Forest in eastern Idaho, Kelly Canyon ski resort was founded in 1957. Visitors can enjoy great powder and extensive ski runs. The vertical drop is 1,000 feet and the peak is over 6,500 feet above sea level! Kelly Canyon caters to ski enthusiasts with nearly 750 acres of ski runs.

Choose Accommodations to Book for Kelly Canyon

Step1
Check the Idaho Division of Tourism Development Web site (see Resources below) to find and book accommodations for your ski trip. You can also call (860) 567-4506 for additional information.
Step2
Decide if you want to stay in a more affordable Rexburg motel. You can also book a room in nearby Driggs, Ammon or even Idaho Falls.
Step3
Stay in a comfortable and plush hotel within nearby Rexburg. You can find some surprisingly luxurious hotels in this area, but expect to pay moderately expensive prices.

Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Kelly Canyon

Step1
Drive nine miles northeast off of Highway 26 to reach the ski area.
Step2
Drive 25 miles to Kelly Canyon from Idaho Falls or just under 20 miles from Rexburg.

Know Your Destination

Kelly Canyon is situated in a truly beautiful river valley that not only possess premier skiing and snowboarding but is also a great location for snowmobiling.
Step2
Set your sights on the Kelly Canyon Ski Resort, which averages 200 inches of snowfall a year and has an impressive 26 runs over 640 acres, with the longest run spanning 6,900 feet. Of the 26 trails, 20 percent are for advanced skiers and snowboarders while 45 percent are for intermediate and 35 percent serve the beginner contingent.
Step3
Practice your skiing or snowboarding skills by participating in private or group lessons with friends. Private lessons are charged by the hour, but you can include up to three friends for a very reasonable rate.
Step4
Purchase season passes for yourself, children, seniors or a family of six or more. Adult passes for people 12 years and older are relatively inexpensive, while passes for children and seniors are very inexpensive.
