Situated in Cottonwood, Idaho, Cottonwood Butte is a relatively small ski area compared to some others in the state. However, with an 845-foot vertical drop, it can hold its own against many of its larger or swankier neighbors. With a top elevation of 5,566 feet and about 250 ski-friendly acres, this ski area has become a favorite among locals and visitors.

Book Accommodations Near Cottonwood Butte

Step1
Check the Idaho Division of Tourism Development Web site (see Resources below) to find and book accommodations for your ski trip. You can also call the department at (860) 567-4506 for more details.
Step2
Stay outside of Cottonwood for lodgings that are moderately priced but still comfortable and stylish. Expect ski-themed hotels and motels throughout the area.
Step3
Find accommodations near Cottonwood Butte and have quick access to the ski area. Within the city of Cottonwood, Idaho you can book a room at a few different lodgings, including numerous bed and breakfasts.

Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Cottonwood Butte

Step1
Book your accommodations within the city of Cottonwood and you will be near Cottonwood Butte. Simply go west on Radar Road for five miles.
Step2
Drive from Spokane, Washington in just over three hours or cruise into Cottonwood from Boise in about four hours. Cottonwood is in the northwestern most part of Idaho and sits within a mile of US 95.

Know Your Destination

Step1
Plan on taking days off from work for your ski trip to Cottonwood between Christmas week and the end of February. The annual snowfall is not a large sum at 45 inches, but sufficient for a smaller ski resort.

Cottonwood has only seven trails and two lifts. The total area available for skiing is 260 acres while the longest run stretches for 4,000 feet. The base of the resort begins at 4,280 feet and reaches all the way to 5,566 feet at the summit.

Rest assured that Cottonwood Butte's trails service every level of skier and snowboarder, from the greenest to the most advanced.
