Abounding in skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and skateboarding activities, the Woodbury, Connecticut ski area is opened year round. Although the longest run is only half a mile long, tubers can enjoy the 300-foot vertical drop.

Book Accommodations Near Woodbury

Step1
Visit the Northwest Connecticut Convention & Visitors Bureau Web site (see Resources below) to book accommodations for your ski trip. You can also call them directly at (860) 567-4506.

Book a room in one of Connecticut's older hotels, some of which were built over 100 years ago and offer the quaint and unique feel of Connecticut.

Curl up in the comfort of classic Connecticut inns, where warm fireplaces and New England style are de rigueur and prices range from moderate to slightly pricey.

Organize Transportation for a Ski Trip to Woodbury

Step1
Find your way to the Woodbury Ski Area in Connecticut, located at 785 Washington Road. The ski area is just off Route 47 and west of Route 137.
Step2
If you are coming from New York City, you will only need to drive about 100 miles and take two major freeways, I-684 North and I-84 East. Within Connecticut, your drive time will vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Know Your Destination

Step1
Scamper over to Woodbury, Connecticut for your next ski trip to enjoy the many unique types of snow fun they have to offer. Aside from ski and snowboard trails, they boast the most trails, eight during the day and one at night, solely dedicated to snow tubing.
Step2
Cruise down the snow-packed mountain and launch off one of the many ramps or jumps made for freewheeling snowboarders. Woodbury is a haven for snowboarders.
Step3
Learn how to ski, snowboard or cross-country ski by partaking in the Christmas Holiday Camp put on in late December at the Woodbury Ski Area. This program lasts a few hours each day and also includes an hour for lunch.

Your children can participate in weekend specials that let them ski from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. From January to March, Woodbury ski area has an after-school program to help kids learn how to ski, snowboard or cross-country ski. The price includes lessons and lift tickets.
