How to Go Skiing in SolVista Basin, Colorado

SolVista Basin is perfect for the occasional skier. With the East Mountain almost entirely for low to medium level skiers, forget the bunny slope and choose from several trails. For the more experienced skiers, climb to 9,166 feet and seek your thrills on the West Mountain, which has a heftier vertical drop of 1,000 feet.

Book Your Ski Trip to SolVista Basin

Step1
Book lodgings in the SolVista area by calling (800) 926-4386. You'll have a choice of hotels with full amenities, premier condos or new vacation homes. Rates are moderate to expensive.
Step2
See more accommodations near SolVista Basin by visiting the Colorado Tourism Office Web site (see Resources below) and doing an accommodations search. You can also call (800)COLORADO for information.
Step3
Order and print your lift tickets on SolVista Basin's Web site (see Resources below). Don't forget to bring your ticket to the ski area!
Step4
Reserve a spot with the ski and snowboard school whether you are a beginning or advanced skier. Classes are available for both adults and children. Call (800) 757-7669 to make your reservation.
Step5
Travel from Denver along Interstate 70 westbound to Highway 40 north. SolVista Basin is located just two miles south of the town of Granby, Colorado.

Let SolVista know if you are traveling with a group. Special rates apply to tickets, lessons and meals. Own the night sky and the slopes with a private night skiing party. Call (800) 618-7669 for these special groups rates and activities. You can also fill out a group request form online.

Prepare for Your Trip to SolVista Basin

Step1
Log on to SolVista Basin's Web site to view the latest snow report. View details on current temperature, the day's forecast, new snowfall and the percentage of trails and terrain open and available.
Step2
Look at SolVista's trail map online to see how the trails are spread out through the mountains. Tick off each trail, one by one, as you set off to conquer the mountain.
Step3
Rent your ski and snowboard equipment at SolVista Basin's rental shop, which is located at the base of the slopes.
Step4
Stop by the cafeteria to warm up with some hot cocoa and replenish your energy. Grab some grub while you give your skis a rest.
