How to Go Skiing in Buttermilk, Colorado

Buttermilk Ski Resort is one of the four peaks that make up Colorado's Aspen Snowmass resort. Buttermilk offers 44 trails glistening with perfect Colorado snow. It's got a world-class terrain park and is the home of ESPN's X Games. Most of Aspen's ski school classes are taught at Buttermilk, so you can use your trip to make you a better skier or snowboarder.

Book Lodging at Buttermilk

Step1
Book Buttermilk accommodations through the Aspen Snowmass Web site (see Resources below). Or call (888) 649-5985.
Step2
Plan a mid-week trip for shorter lift lines and excellent pricing on accommodations.

Prepare for the Slopes at Buttermilk

Step1
Check the snow report on Aspen's Web site (see Resources below).
Step2
Become a better skier or snowboarder. Look for packages that include lessons, lift tickets, equipment rentals and a video analysis of your skiing or boarding.
Step3
Know that kids 7 and under ski or snowboard for free at all peaks in Aspen Snowmass.
Step4
Rent equipment ahead of time and save money! Four-Mountain Sports has locations at the base of all four mountains. They'll even store your skis and transfer them to another mountain at your request.
Step5
Buttermilk boasts a summit elevation of 9,900 feet and gets around 200 inches of snow each year.
