Choose Your Lodging

Step1
Book a room at the resort's Sugar Bowl Inn. You can park underground and enjoy a European-style mountain lodge experience. Call the inn at (530) 426-6742 or use the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort Web site (see Resources below).
Step2
Splurge on a room with a mountain view, or save some cash by staying in one of the inn's Northern Rooms. If you are traveling with children, treat yourself to a Deluxe Suite or choose Connecting Family rooms with mountain views.
Step3
Take advantage of Sugar Bowl's discount lodging, the details for which are on the resort's Web site. The lodging is varied and includes familiar chain motels, homey cabin resorts and lakeside lodges with fabulous views.

Arrange Transportation to Sugar Bowl

Step1
Take the ski bus to Sugar Bowl from three California locations: San Francisco Bay Area, Vacaville or Sacramento. This bus service operates during the resort's open season and is a great option for a day trip to Sugar Bowl. Ticket prices include your lift ticket.
Step2
Drive to Truckee, California or take the train there. Sugar Bowl offers a free daily shuttle service from this town. You'll find an operating schedule on the resort's Web site. Truckee is off of I-80 and the resort is off of Highway 40.

Plan Your Ski Trip to Sugar Bowl

Step1
Book your trip from mid-November through the end of April, which is the typical operating season. Sugar Bowl's lifts operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and the lift ticket booths open at 8 a.m.
Step2
Fax your season pass order form to the ticket office at Sugar Bowl. You will need to pick up your pass at the ticket office when you arrive, though the resort does have plans for an upcoming online ticket/pass purchasing system.
Step3
Read the current ski report by clicking on "The Mountain" link on the home page of the Web site.
